100 days of food – Day 19

Posted on April 21, 2014 by Sonali

Another holiday but I can’t call it a lazy day. I had a mission in mind today – sort out my winter clothes and re-organise the summer clothes now that the weather is getting cooler by the day. It is a bi-annual exercise but the one that I use as a de-cluttering tool. If I haven’t worn a piece of cloth in the last 6 months, I give it to charity. The same goes for Yash and Avi’s clothes as well. And I am ruthless. No “I may wear it some day” or “this has sentimental value”. If you haven’t used it in 6 months, chances of wearing it are slim, so it goes to people who may use it in a better way. By the end of morning, I had 3 big garbage bags full of clothes and one of yash’s toys and books. It also makes me realise that we are spoilt and have way too many clothes. But that is forgotten the next time I see a beautiful dress! 🙂

As I had a lot of work to do, it was a day of eating leftovers. I made a few plain uttapams from the left over mixture for breakfast while Yash and Avi had the trusted toast and egg. Here is the pic of my brekkie.

For lunch, we had the left over alu mutter with store bought chapatis. Since we have discovered Udaya, we have more choice around lunch and dinner and getting rid of some arduous tasks like cooking fresh chapatis all the time. The alu mutter, like all curries, tasted better the next day and lunch was delicious.

We were catching up with our friends Gia and Vikas in the evening. They have a son, aarav, who is slightly younger to Yash. This ensured that all of us had a good time. The adults could chat, with fewer interruptions from the kids. The moscato was delicious and with great company, time flew. We had Pizza Hut pizzas for dinner. They have a tandoori chicken pizza and it was delicious. We came back at 11 after a wonderful night, tired and ready to hit the bed. End to another good day! Till tomorrow…….
