Happy Lohri everyone! So many memories. In India, today was the day of having a bonfire and gathering with the neighbours around it. On cold winter evenings, it was the best thing ever, eating gazak, revdi, roasted peanuts and singing “sundar mundriye” around the fire. Ah, what days!
Today was Monday and I am never happy on a Monday. I don’t think I will get used to it, even after working for 20 years. Oh well! Breakfast today was a coffee and a ham and cheese toastie from Pablo’s and Rusty. The cafe and the food is great but the wait is crazy! It took me half and hour to get my breakfast! Have to find a new cafe which not only serves great food but is quick.
I went shopping at lunch. The sales are on, so it was great to browse at Myers. I went to the crockery section and bought these beautiful scotch glasses at half price, a bargain! I have to go again tomorrow for these gorgeous martini glasses that I loved. As I spent majority of my lunch hour shopping, I ended up getting a takeaway lunch of spicy fish and an alu paratha. Quick and easy to get and to eat!
Tonight was gym night, so dinner was cooked by my darling husband. I must say, for someone who does not like cooking, he cooks good meals. This Saturday, I spent time putting a meal plan for the week together so that it is easy for both of us to plan and manage meals. So tonight we had spicy prawn masala with pita bread. Avi got carried away a bit on the spicy part but it was delicious. Below is the picture and the recipe!
