100 days of Tech Detox – Day 14

Posted on March 18, 2016 by Sonali

I am getting there. It wasn’t easy yesterday but I persevered. I dutifully kept my iPhone and iPad away at 7. Evenings are easy, it is the early morning that is hard for me to keep away from tech. But I am determined this time!

It was an interesting day. I went for my teacher suitability interview and am one step closer to my dream job. They always say if you want to discover your passion, think about what you would do if you did not have to worry about money or other pressures of life. For me, that is always teaching/coaching. I am passionate about kids and education, so I have been working on lining up all my ducks to get there. I know it will not be easy and I have heard a lot of reviews around how it is hard and not what it is made out to be. But I believe that if you are passionate about something, you can move mountains. I am looking forward to my next journey!

My darling husband took me for lunch after the interview. We had the Indian food in the hood – Wigram Street, Harris Park. You want to have a taste of india – go there! The entire street is littered with different types of Indian restaurants. You can pretty much taste food from all Indian regions there! It is far from our place, but whenever we get a chance we go there to feel close to motherland. A recent favourite shop of ours is the Tikka Corner. It is owned by a Pakistani chap and his chicken seekh are to die for. We got our dinner packed from that shop coz if you go to Harris park, there is no way you can miss those tikkas.

Evening was the usual – homework and then the trip to the park with Yash. The evenings are getting cooler and the days shorter. It is a matter of days before our evening trips will stop. So I am letting Yash have all the fun he can while it lasts. He had fun but was bored soon enough and came back home. Look at him being a dare devil!

Till tomorrow – enjoy your Friday!
