The last 2 days were buy with spawn! His expectations are rising and he wants to have something planned for each day! Thank god I have already done that, not telling him that though!
On Friday, we went to Casula Powerhouse. Now it is not far from our house but we have never been there for some reason. Partly because it is in the middle of nowhere so you have to take the long road down there even though it is practically next door. Saying that, I was impressed. It was full of cultural activity with plays and workshops for kids happening all around. I had enrolled Yash to this craft workshop called “capture your dreams”. My creative boy likes making and drawing things. So it was apt for him. He made a dream catcher that day. Fair enough it is not the most beautiful thing but he enjoyed himself and kept busy for the 2 hours of the workshop. Check out the picture!
Saturday was our picnic day. Our neighbours and friends Jowins and Selma and their 2 boys and us went for a picnic to Cordeaux Dam. We had never been there but it was only a 45 mins drive from our place. So armed with food, picnic mat, chairs and the boys’ scooter, we reached to find a beautiful, slightly untouched place. There were only 2-3 other families like us. The kids had a fab time racing on the scooter and climbing trees while Selma and I chatted and cooked. We then went for a stroll to the dam itself and while not in the best condition, it was still good to see where our drinking supply comes from. I actually liked the picnic area more than the dam, the beautiful weather helped but I am all for more such picnics with friends.
Superstition of the day
It is not good luck if a black cat crosses your way
My explanation is black cats are scary creature especially in the night when you can only see their bright eyes. So some scaredy poo stepped on it causing cat anger and possibly scratches. This made him/her declare that black cat brings bad luck.
Tomorrow I will write the Indian arranged marriage and my hilarious journey with it. Yes, I had an arranged marriage! Till tomorrow……
