Number 16 – Visit my dad’s ancestral home

Posted on August 25, 2017 by Sonali

My dad was born in Agra and spent most of his growing years there. He was born in a rich family but the untimely death of his dad meant he did not grow up with any family riches. In fact the family story is that my great grandad had multiple properties and riches but he was heartbroken with his young son’s (my grandfather) death and people took advantage. This meant that by the time my dad grew up he had to start from scratch.

I am very proud of him! He is a self made man and has never asked or got anything from anyone. Every single thing he has or built is hard earned by my mom and him. He has inculcated his strong work ethics in us and gave us a solid foundation so that we can lead our lives successfully. He is my hero and I love him to bits!

I am very keen to visit the place where he was born and see our ancestral place with him. We even have an ancestral temple where my great great grandfathers’ names are inscribed. It would be amazing to go there with my dad and build memories.

This one I have planned and will tick off this year when I visit Agra! I am looking forward to it. You will see pictures and stories once I have ticked this one off! Wait and watch this space.
