Did you go out for dinner tonight? I had every intention but then I went out and it was freezing cold. So I decided to drop it and ate at home.
I like eating out – it helps break the monotony and humdrum of the daily routine and more importantly I get to eat food cooked by someone else 😊
Growing up in India in the 80s, eating out was a big deal. Restaurants were mostly for business deals. We used to eat most times at home – a fancy meal meant Mum cooking something different to the regular meal. We used to go out sometimes and eat at a small eatery in our neighbourhood and it was a big deal.
But by the time I was in college, globalisation happened in India. Restaurants sprung up everywhere and eating out became a norm. These days, food is a big business in india. With the busy lives and long days, people love to eat out.
I enjoy all cuisines and am an experimental foodie. So dining out is a good way to try new cuisines. Living in a multicultural country like Australia, I am lucky that I am able to relish all the world cuisines. Let me know which one is your favourite, may be we can go to dinner together next time 😊
