We are in November and in celebration mode. This is the time, at least in India, to be with family and friends and be merry. We try and replicate it as much as possible here in our adopted country. So today is Dhanteras – the festival of Dhan or money. Usually you buy something metallic for the house or precious metals like silver or gold. Now coz I still prefer my gold from India and silver jewellery is not something I wear, I have for the past 10 years bought something for the hose. This year was no different and I bought something practical like an electric can opener!
Now Diwali is in full swing. The house is all lit up and tomorrow will be diya time. I love lighting up my house as much as possible! After all it is called Festival of Lights for a reason. Check out.
Tomorrow will be my annual day of sweet preparation – gulab jamun, coconut ladoo, kheer! Avi is about to have a whale of time! He does not get to indulge his sweet tooth that often!
