I missed writing yesterday coz we had a power outage. It took us by surprise. Now in India we were always prepared. So power outage as not something out of the ordinary. Life went on! But here in Oz, it is not something we expect. So it is a bit chaotic, frantically looking for candles, trying to work out dinner in dark! But then when power comes back, the stories remain!
In my life, I have gained inspiration from a lot of people. In fact, most of the times I have been inspired by ordinary people doing extraordinary things like breaking a societal barrier or achieving a personal milestone. All those stories really inspire me and have an impact on my life.
But today I will tell you the 2 famous people who inspired me. The first one is Sudha Murthy. I did not know much about her and her incredible life journey till I picked her book “Dollar Bahu” at an Indian book store. It is a very simple read but the page about the author intrigued me. Since then I have followed her on social media and listened to her various speeches and read a lot about her.
She inspires me with her simplicity and her uncomplicated view about how to live life. I love how she has not let her material achievements impact her life journey. She is a feminist and doesn’t shy away from standing for women’s rights but at the same time show what it truly means. She is a role model for all of us.
The second famous person who inspires me is J.K.Rowling. She is truly inspirational as to how she turned her life around by never giving up. She is an epitome of resilience and grit and has openly shared her story how she was at the bottom of her life when she wrote Harry Potter. She was rejected multiple times but never let those deject her till her book was published. Rest as we all know is history!
She has since been openly outspoken about the human issues of equality and justice and freedom of speech. A great philanthropist, she has shown how to use your wealth to the advantage of humankind. She is another role model who inspires me through her stories to do better everyday.
