Change is the only constant. If you don’t change, you don’t grow. That is one thing I am proud of – I change and adapt and grow as I learn. And everyday life is the biggest teacher!
One of the biggest thing I have learnt is about people. I am by nature a trusting person and if I let someone in my life then that means I trust them. I have learnt that people act according to their own values. So I have become very conscious of my energy and who I spend it with. I have a small group of friends and I am happy with that.
I have learnt to say “no”. I am very precious with my time and energy and if something does not add value to “MY” life, I refuse. I don’t get on the bandwagon just because everyone else is doing it. In fact I stay away from FOMO (Fear of missing out). I relish spending time alone or with people who give me joy. I call it decluttering my life.
I have learnt to be patient and take life in my stride. I no longer ponder on what ifs or feel bad about small things. It is what it is and I move on to where life takes me. It has certainly brought calm and peace in my life and I feel more in control of my reactions and situations.
As I have grown older, I have become wiser about life. It is a journey and there is no manual or set destination. We should go on our merry way, enjoying whatever we encounter and let it take shape as it unfolds. That is when we will be living it fully!
