My first thought to this question was giving birth to yash and raising him. But I can’t call that MY biggest achievement as that is OUR achievement. My husband, while did not go through the pain of birth, has been Yash’s primary carer for majority of his life.
My biggest achievement is settling in a new country and restarting my life, both personally and professionally. I was not keen to move as we were doing well in india and I am very close to my family. But my husband was keen and I threw caution to the wind and joined him.
The initial years were hard to put it mildly. I started my career from scratch and had no friends and family in the country. Thankfully we had each other.
We persevered and after 20 years call this beautiful country home. I have done well in my career and have made some amazing friends who are like family. It did not happen overnight but the journey was eventful.
I still miss my family and when I look back, I am not sure if I would have the courage to do it again. But in this life, I would possibly have it no other way!
