Winter months are for hibernation but as humans even though we store, we don’t hibernate and rest. I have learnt to balance. I either like to travel to warmer places or try and stay put at home as much as possible.
This month I focussed on my reading. I took advantage of the Prime Day sale and bought a kindle. I love that it can only be used for reading and it’s light weight means I can carry it anywhere. I am hoping to read more books.
I have started reading My Gita by Devdutt Pattanaik. If you don’t know about him, I highly recommend checking him out. He primarily writes about Hindu Mythology in a scientific way. Having grown up reading Gita, I was drawn to reading his version. I have only read 2 chapters so far and it is fascinating. I highly recommend reading it if you like this kind of genre.
It was a cold month but I did manage to create a few memories with friends. The highlight was a candlelight concert of Bollywood music on violin in a century old church with my bestie. It truly was a magical night.
I also fulfilled my long term desire of doing the Bondi to Coogee walk with my husband and son. Even though it was windy, it was a glorious winter day and the scenery during the walk was stunning. Again, highly recommend it to do it once.
I rounded off the month celebrating a close friend’s son turning 16. I have seen him grow from a toddler to this fine gentleman and it is heart warming to see the kids on the brink of adulthood, ready to face the world.
Here’s a snapshot of July memories! August is my birthday month, so ai will be blogging everyday like I have dine past few years. Looking forward to all the writing….
