I come from an ordinary middle class family from india who grew up before the 6th Pay commission. Those growing up in india would recognise the riches and pay hikes 6th pay commission brought. It was the start of “Affluent India” and change of the middle class.
My father retired as a senior central government director. While we were not in want of anything, flying was still a luxury in India. Air india was the only carrier and the airfares were not affordable. No wonder I first flew when I came to Oz.
For a girl who never saw a plane while growing up, flying first class is a pipe dream. Now I can do it but it is special enough to go on my bucket list.
