I grew up in a regular middle class family in India. This was a time before India’s global expansion and sixth pay commission – simpler times! A yearly train trip to Nani house in Jaipur was our getaway, an occasional meal at the local restaurant a treat, movies in theatres were for special occasions and trips to hotels were unheard of! How far we have come!
I am not saying I didn’t love my life – I loved it! We appreciated everything and looked fwd to every small thing that came our way. These days, with everything easily available or in easy reach, we have lost the art of appreciation and gratitude. We want everything and want it now!
So that is where my wish for staying a night at Leela come from! At one stage of my life, it would have been an unattainable dream. Now it is not….it is more a matter of time. It makes to my bucket list to constantly remind me how far we have come in life! Here is to creating more memories…….
