Already day 10 and I must say, I am not coping well. Clean eating requires a lot of cooking and while I love to cook, I hate it as a routine. One thing I must say, this whole exercise has forced me into looking at my eating habits. So while previously, if I was grumpy and did not feel like eating at home, ordering a take away was easy. Now I think twice and end up cooking most times. Oh well, that is one positive.
Day 10
It was going to rain. The weather bureau had been predicting the low pressure and the deluge came. There was hail in some areas! I had plain uttapams for breakfast from the leftover batter of idli. It had fermented a bit more and tasted yum. It is the only picture I took in two days, so here it is.
For lunch I made the favourite food of every Punjabi in the world, rajma chawal (red beans curry with rice). Now I usually use my set recipe but this time I did a little bit of variation and boy it bounced back badly. The rajma was watery and tasted okay but not great. Lesson learnt – stick to what you are good at!
By dinner I was tired and cranky and succumbed to the temptation of heating up some oven snacks and having those for dinner! I know not clean! But better than ordering a pizza may be, that was my excuse!
Day 11
Now I have to rant a bit. So I read in the paper that Apple was recalling some iPhone 6 plus models to get their camera replaced as it was faulty and causing blurry pictures. I checked online to see if my phone was affected and the serial number came up as positive. So I promptly went to the apple repair centre in MacArthur square to get it fixesd. The guy checked my phone and said that it was working. But I asked hasn’t it been recalled. The answer baffled me – apparently I have to wait till it breaks before it will be replaced. Funny way of managing things. A die hard Apple fan like me is not impressed with two incidents that have happened to me in recent times.
As this was a no good trip, we went to watch a movie instead – Mission Impossible – Rogue Nation. I am not a huge Tom Cruise fan but I loved the movie. I admit watching it in Gold Class helped but the movie was great with some great action and sound effects.
Back to food – I ate my last batch of idli for breakfast. As I had mentioned in my first post, it is my favourite breakfast. I wasn’t exaggerating then! I can have them everyday without complains. I missed lunch and then went on to cook Punjabi Gobhi Aloo for dinner. I think I have posted the recipe in one of my earlier posts. We made sandwiches with its filing and they were yum! I forgot to take any pictures as I was busy enjoying the food and TV. Till Tomorrow!
