Self love is not something that is taught in my culture. You are just a cog in the community, so you should never focus on yourself is the mantra, no different to a lot of ethnic cultures where the norms and rules are being carried from tribal times. It has taken me years to be comfortable with self love and have only recently started talking positive things about myself. So here are 5 things that I love about myself:
- I love to love. I believe in the power of love and the belief that we are born to love. So I practice that wherever possible. It is always in abundance in us and can never finish.
- Kindness is superpower and I consider that above everything else. I grew up with my grandmother who instilled that in all of us. She taught us to be kind to all living beings, from a tiny ant to a mighty elephant.
- I am a fighter. I am kind and loving but I stick to my values and fight for them. My values are my life blueprint. And I will fight or remove myself rather than compromising them.
- I love bringing people together. I am of the firm philosophy that we rise together and we don’t need to climb on each other to reach the top. Rather, we should bring people together to raise the bar.
- I am very loyal in my relationships. I will give my all in a relationship till I am given a reason to leave. Then you have lost me forever.
I am sure what I love about myself is something a lot of people would run away from. But that is fine! As a firm believer in energy, I am happy to have people, where our energies align, around me. I have to love myself and that is most important. The rest everything is a bonus!
