I am inspired by new things. In fact, both in my personal and professional life, change keeps me going. I have to infuse creativity and new things in my life to keep myself motivated. So I am constantly on the mission to do that. This 30 days of blogging was part of that mission – a new blog topic everyday has been great!
I have tried a lot of new things in my past – I mean we moved to a new country as part of this! I am usually not intimidated by the unknown. Like everyone, I do have a slight fear when going into something new but it is the good fear – the one that pushes you forward. My philosophy always has been “Let’s try it and see”.
While I am an adventurer, I must clarify that I am not reckless. I make sure that I take calculated risks as I don’t believe in throwing everything away to pursue something new. But I have a firm belief that life is to be lived to the fullest and without trying new things, we become stagnant very quickly.
I don’t believe that age plays a part in our quest for adventure. Age in my head is just a number of how many years we have been on the planet. You can hustle or do anything that you desire at any age! I am inspired by stories of people who break the societal age barriers. I just ensure that I do things what my body allows as I don’t want to break it!
So I am planning to do a few new things before this year ends and hoping that COVID calms down enough for me to do that.
- Climb the Harbour Bridge – My friend Poornima and I were supposed to do that in March this year before COVID hit and thwarted our plans. I am hoping we are able to book and complete it before the year ends.
- Practice daily mindfulness – I was given a year’s subscription of the app Calm through a promo. It helps you practice mindfulness and meditation and keeps you on track. I want to try it for some time to make it a habit (hopefully)!
- Exercise every day – This is not new but something I have tried but not managed to keep it up. As my body is getting older, I want to do some exercises to keep up the agility. So I am starting with this 7 minute exercise that I am hoping will get me in the groove.
- Keep up the 30 day challenge – I am enjoying trying a new challenge every day. I am hoping to continue this for the next 3 months. Thinking about a new one for next month. Any suggestions?
I will finish it with a quote,
If you never did, you should. These things are fun and fun is good!
