Music is food for soul, at least for me. I listen to music when I can’t sleep, am not feeling well or just feeling low. It makes me feel better instantly and helps uplift my mood.
I have learnt classical music, so apart from listening, I love to sing too. My music choices for the day or week is directly dependent on my energy. There are times when I listen to music that I can sing along and there are other times when I listen to some where it is only soothing to the ears.
As the years have passed, I have started enjoying the music in peace or solitude. I no longer enjoy the loud concerts or karaoke sessions in pubs that I used to frequent a few years ago. Sign of ageing I suppose.
Playlist for this week is a mix of old and new. I am currently listening to old Bollywood songs by Shankar Jaikishan and some new ones by AR Rahman – two of my favourite composers. The melodies are soothing and certainly a reflection of my current energy – bringing calmness in my life.
My current favourite is an evergreen song that talks about generosity and gratitude. Enjoy!
