This is a hard question – I am happy living where I am but then I don’t know what else is out there.
What I do know is that I can’t live in a small, isolated city. As much as I love nature and greenery, I need the hustle bustle that comes with an urban city. Till a few years ago, I had this notion or dream that I can settle in a small village. I guess the idyllic life shown and marketed got to me. But I went and stayed for holidays in some small places and I realised that they are not for me. I am a city person – I love the convenience of getting what you want, late night get togethers and everything else that a city brings.
I do love the peace and quiet and that is what I love where I live. My home is part of a community estate and is far enough from the city to maintain its quietness but not so far that I can’t enjoy the late night dinners and movies.
My ideal place to live would be where I am but having my family next door. That is the only thing missing in my life – my parents, my sister and my brother are all far away. I can’t be with them for small things and only sometimes for big things. That remains a dream and if I think of an ideal place to love, it would be having dwellings in a row with all of us close by. May be some day this dream may also come true. Till then, I am happy where I live.
