A race that stops the nation – every year, on the first Tuesday of November, the punters get their bets ready while the ladies dress up in their favourite dresses and hats to celebrate Melbourne cup day! Now many would say it is just a horse race but looking at the festivities across the nation, in the offices and the pub, I would say it has become a sort of national festival!
Our work was no different. We celebrated it in style with lots of food and betting sweeps. The ladies and men dressed up and the team members gathered together to watch the race. With horse shaped balloons, it was festive atmosphere at work today!
It was a cold day, it seems that summer has turned it’s back towards us! Coz it was Melbourne cup day, I wore a red, layered dress to work. I wore a black jacket over it to keep the chill away. Here is my cup look!
