F is for forgiveness. It has taken me years to train myself to practice forgiveness. I was never the one to hold a grudge but things hurt me and linger in my psyche. I have slowly learnt it is an unnecessary weight to carry and the only person who suffers is you.
So over the years I have learnt to forgive myself and others when I am stung or feel bad about something. Reading and meditation has made me realise that it is only our false ego or अहं that makes us retaliate. Letting go of that helps you forgive easier and get inner peace, which is the most important thing in life.
F is also for fun, and just like happiness, fun is personal. Fun for me is anything that gives me pleasure and takes me away from the usual humdrum of life. Anything that does not feel heavy is fun. In our house, we look for individual fun and for collective fun. We all need that personal time but we look for common things where we can enjoy and have fun. It constitutes family time.
