The shortest month of the year always goes by quickly. It reminds us that time continues to go by and you have to make the most of it every moment.
We took it easy in February. One of my goals this year is to slow my pace and do fewer things. Watching the world pass by and sitting and doing nothing have become my favourite past time. It gives me mental break but also helps me appreciate life, leading to more contentment.
Yash started year 11 which was a milestone for us. My baby is in the penultimate years of his school education makes me emotional but looking at the kind and intelligent human I have raised also makes me proud.
I went on a night out with my friends and kids to celebrate a special birthday of a young woman. We don’t go out with just kids, so it was fun to listen to the chatter of Gen Z and trying to wrap our head around the lingo and keep up with their aspiration, struggles and their take on life. It was an illuminating evening to say the least.
My husband and I had a rare date night to go and watch the Zakir Khan show in the city. He is my favourite stand up artist and it was a pleasure to watch him perform in the gorgeous state theatre. I was thrilled to spend a night out with my darling husband alone as we don’t get a lot of opportunities. We made the most of the night by enjoying a nice dinner before the show. We agreed that more such outings would help us keep the relationship sparkly!
I don’t get to see my family in Sydney often, so I was ecstatic to see my brother in law who made a stops over with us fie a few days on his work trip to Christchurch. We spent some quality time together with lots of discussions over meals. The only dampener was that I got the flu and did not have a lot of energy.
