November 2025

Posted on December 1, 2025 by Sonali

November was all about human connection. In this social media jungle, we have lost the art of interactions and conversations. Taking a picture and posting to show the quantity of relationships has become more important than HAVING a relationship. Posing for the camera is taking precedence over a quiet, engaging conversation. Connection is through apps rather than felt through the heart.

Thankfully I grew up without a smartphone and social media. So while I enjoy using it, I am still old world around the importance of the human interactions in life. November was spent with individuals who infuse positive energy

I had breakfast with both my besties and we talked about our lives and everything else under the sun. They are my safe space and I know I can be myself without any facade with them. We have disagreements but know we can walk away with no dent in our relationship. It is my monthly dose of sanity with both of them.

I celebrated a dear friend’s birthday with a lovely Thai dinner at Revesby. We were pleasantly surprised at the good food in the suburbs. Maria and I met at work and became good friends. Our relationship is based on common values and outlook towards life. I cherish her friendship and presence in my life.

I attended a play starring my bestie. She joined theatre to get out of her comfort zone and I have seen her growth over the past few years. She has honed her craft and is getting better with each play. I am so proud of her and she is such an inspiration to everyone around her.

The last weekend of the month was my annual catch up with my group of family friends. We have been friends for over 10 years and while we are growing differently, there is a certain comfort when we get together. Now that the kids are older and are barely seen at the get togethers, we just sit and chat, reminiscing about the years gone by and the years to come. We ate, we sang and it was a fun night. We had a few people missing but we made the most of it.

We are in the last month of the year. I keep thinking about how quickly time flies and we have to continue to make the most of everyday. This is the only life we have and we should have a wholesome one.
