U is for unique – one of its kind. In spite of our similarities as humans, we are all very different. Our uniqueness is a gift, something we learn late in life and some of us never learn. The world is so focussed on the similarities and fighting against the dissimilarities that we have somehow lost focus on what makes us all unique.
As humans, it is natural to coagulate towards people who speak the same language, look similar and eat the same kind of food. But as nature has shown us, when different genes get together, it only results in a stronger and unique species.
When I moved to Australia, what really fascinated me was that it was a melting pot of people across the world. This makes it a unique and beautiful place. The opportunity to know about the various cultures and people really opened my mind. For someone like me who loves stories, this was living and listening to a never ending one.
I have learnt so many things from so many beautiful humans, have made friends, eaten a lot of different world cuisines and had a peep into the diverse cultures in the world.
I now wish and hope that people appreciate and admire the uniqueness that each of us bring when we get together. It is what makes the world stronger and beautiful.
