Ah Saturday, day of relaxation and pure bliss. I was determined to go to the gym class in the morning. As our Pilates was cancelled, we decided to just go to exercise for 30 minutes. On reaching the Gym, they asked us to go to this new body balance class. And I loved it! A mixture of Tai Chi, Pilates and Yoga, it was great stretch class. Sure my body was aching by the time I came home, but I felt great.
I missed breakfast due to the gym, just had a few nuts. But weekend lunches are when I cook for my boys and myself. So I decided to cook the punjabi baingan bharta for lunch with makki methi roti. The only difference that I do in the recipe is that I use one part makki flour and two part wheat flour so that it is easy cook the roti. For Yash, I made the parathas while we had warm rotis. The combination was delicious. I followed it with a bowl of cold indian yoghurt and lunch was done!
We had a dinner engagement at our friend Neha’s place. Now, they are actually our neighbours and have their house not far from ours. But right now they have rented their place out and are renting in Rhodes. Neha reminds me of the bollywood star Parineeti Chopra, fun, charming and vivacious. And I realised she is also a great cook. She cooked this great masala chicken for starters and I was licking my fingers literally. I have to get the recipe! There was another starter of oats idli which was delicious but that chicken was to die for! We chatted and exchanged girlie notes over cocktails while the men were discussing money and finances.
For dinner we had keema matar and rajma. I loved it with rice and if I hadn’t stuffed my face with the entrees, I would have eaten more. It was a great night and you can judge by the fact that we came back at 2 in the morning and we have a 5 year old! I was so busy eating that I forgot to take pictures but you can just imagine the delicious food. Here is the food picture of lunch.
