February 2026

Posted on March 1, 2026 by Sonali

The shortest month of the year was rich in adventures. This month was Digital Detox Lite as per my resolution at the start of the year. Honestly, I did alright. I could have been better but it was a mentally challenging month due to a lot of reasons and I did slip from time to time.

I kicked off the month celebrating a close friends 25th wedding anniversary. It was a night full of love surrounded by some wonderful friends to the couple. It was such a good night.

I am not sure I have written about Saree Club, a wonderful group of ladies who come together for their love of sarees. That is just the common factor to bring everyone together but the ladies do a lot more for each other and community. We gathered together one night to celebrate a fellow saree sisters graduation. It was a fun night of laughter and camaraderie and emphasised the importance of women supporting each other.

I am fortunate to have friends who share my love of musicals and shows. We went to one such ballet production of Great Gatsby at Capitol Theatre. The performance and production was excellent and watching it in the historic theatre doubled the joy. My friend Dawn dressed up for the occasion which was the cherry on the top of a great afternoon.

Every year, during summer, Sydney puts up the most beautiful cinema in the world against the backdrop of the harbour. And every year my friend Poornima and I try and watch a movie there. This year that movie was Wuthering Heights with Margot Robbie as Catherine. The atmosphere was brilliant as always and the movie was different. I have watched every movie adaptation of Wuthering Heights made and the cinematography of this version was superb. The darkness of the moors, the harsh backdrop of the story was shown brilliantly. The characters of Heathcliff and Cathy were shown to be dark and complex but I felt the movie showed too much around passion rather than focussing on the complexity and toxicity of their relationship.

Last weekend was bestie day and poornima and I caught up for our breakfast. Between coffees and food, we laughed and discussed everything under the sun to refill our soul till the next time.

I will be practising meat free March and will chronicle as to how I go with that. Till then below are the memories from February!
