April has always been a special month for me as my wedding anniversary falls in the month. This year we completed 26 blissful years of married life. They say that the most important decision you can take, that determines your quality of life, is around your partner. I am glad that I, or rather my parents, chose well.
We have had our ups and downs, life hasn’t been easy and we are still learning to communicate better as we grow older but there are two things that keep us going – we trust each other and we respect each other. Even in the peak of arguments, we know we have each others back and that is just emotions that we need to work through to communicate differently. People talk about green flags and red flags, I married a forest.
April was a perfect month for rest, relaxation and catching up with friends. Autumn has set in Sydney, so the gorgeous days beckoned to go out. Husband and I did a few random road trips to enjoy the beautiful weather and uninterrupted chats.
I attended an event supporting “Women for Change“ supported by the LBW trust. The stories emphasised how education and empowering women can bring about change for the entire communities and get rid of archaic, centuries old traditions. It was so powerful and heartwarming to hear these women driving change in the marginalised communities across the world and the organisation supporting them.
The end of the month was busy with catching up with friends and celebrations. My girl gang caught up at a new bar close to home and it was a fun night getting up to date on everyone’s life over mocktails and cocktails.
The next day was celebration time as I attended a very important milestone for my bestie. The day put up a show for the revelry and it was a beautiful memory created.
I ended the month watching “Devil Wears Prada 2” with both my best friends. The movie did not disappoint and Meryl Streep is inspirational, giving others a run for their money at 76. Age indeed is a number!
I am looking fwd to May and what it brings. Here’s a snapshot of April!
