High Tea with Friends

Posted on April 28, 2009 by Sonali
I have been so tired lately that I feel the weekends just slip away….I have come to a point where I don’t like to go out on the weekends but love to laze in bed and play with Yash. That is becoming a luxury these days.

This Saturday I did just that before getting ready for the High tea. It was Anzac day and I was conscious that there will be huge crowds in the city. I had the option to go with Colleen but then my laziness took over and I decided to take the public transport. I reached Circular Quay station and started walking towards the hotel when after a little while I realised that I was lost. After calling Colleen and Kama several times and asking people on the way, i finally managed to reach the Observatory Hotel. It is such a beautiful hotel…exactly how I imagine the old British era…the era of the British Raj in India…with its Drawing rooms for men to have cigars and brandy and tea room for the ladies, very quaint.

Colleen made me a very happy woman by disclosing her news….I am so excited!! I met her English friend and I just loved her accent…could listen to her all day.

The high tea itself was very nice…..finger sandwiches, small scones and panacotta in small cups..yum!! Who could have thought that it will fill you up so much. This is me in the picture ogling at the food.

We all had such a good time….I missed Christie. It would have been great if you could have made it. well, next time… I still like the QVB tea room better…may be next time we will have it there with more of us. Below is a picture of us looking lovely and set for the high tea.
