The weather has become cool and getting out of bed in the mornings is becoming increasingly difficult. But that did not deter me from having a fun month with plenty of things keeping me busy and joyful.
The month kicked off with a musical evening organised by a local group of wonderful singers. It was a night dedicated to the acclaimed Indian musician RD Burman and we sang through the evening belting out all the popular numbers along with the singers. It was an amazing night and I have penned it down as an annual event in my diary.
It was the last Mother’s Day attendance at my son’s school, now that he is in year 12. It was very nostalgic to attend the same and meet the young men and women, some of whom I have literally seen grow in front of my eyes since prep.
It was the Saree Club’s Mother’s Day celebration the following weekend and this year it was theme Bridgerton. The ladies did not disappoint and we saw some great creativity around the saree. This Mother’s Day was all about the mum and we had a gala time.
Thor following weekend was full of joy as my best friend Poornima and I attended two blissful days at Sydney Writers Festival. As a bookworm, I love going to events about books. But this was a whole different experience listening to authors and the story behind the story. We have marked it as an annual event in our calendars. We ended the weekend having a sumptuous dinner at Sarvana Bhavan, who have opened a new branch in CBD, and enjoying VIVID which has become a big winter attraction.
I rounded off the month with a dinner celebrating a dear friend’s birthday at a beautiful Japanese restaurant. And then on the weekend my husband and I went for a drive to the Blue mountains which reminded us that we are surrounded by natural beauty and to get out of the house more to refresh and rejuvenate.
June will be cooler and I am hoping for some nice warm dinners to usher in the winter. Here’s a snapshot of May.
