Parathas

Posted on January 9, 2012 by Sonali

I love parathas…I know they are not the healthiest of foods but they are the most delicious!! Coming from Punjab, I have grown up eating the various varieties for BREAKFAST…why in caps because my husband of 12 years still gets surprised by it. Avinash grew up with his fighter pilot dad amongst air force camps in India where breakfast meant 2 pieces of toast and an egg everyday unless it was a special occasion and there was a change like an omelette 🙂 I, in contrast, grew up in the plains of Punjab where having a good breakfast was the norm….parathas on days and Sunday was poori Chhole from the neighborhood halwai! So why am I blogging about parathas today? Because I have been craving them for the past few days….I cooked the alu version a couple of days ago and today is the day for the gobhi ones….if my darling husband has got the cauliflower. I still miss the ones made by my mum with a dollop of home made butter on the top……but beggars can’t be choosers and I will have to make do with mine. I will be posting pics and the recipe soon to transfer you to my delicious world of parathas as well…so lookout! – Posted using BlogPress from my iPad
