Reading and more reading!

Posted on May 19, 2012 by Sonali

While I have been away not blogging, I have spent all my spare time( little in my life, just in case u wonder) on reading books. I love the Kindle App on my iPad. Book reading is so easy – they are downloaded in a few seconds. While I still love the feeling of an actual paper book in my hand, like any time poor mum, I love the idea being able to choose and read my fav books in a matter of minutes. The app also starts recommending books based on your previous selection – love it!

The first book that I bought was “The Help”. Now I am not going to write about that one coz if most of you would have either read the book or watched the movie and if you are one of those who have done neither, my strong suggestion is to read the book. It is one of those books that are written in an era only once.

The book that I read after “The Help” was “The Truth about Forever” by Sarah Dessen. I was skeptical when I bought the book but the story line looked intriguing enough. I was not disappointed. It is a very nicely written book with a feel good factor.

The book is about loss but also about gain – new friendships, new relationships and new beginnings. It makes u realise that we are all very vulnerable but vulnerability is what makes us human and gives us the strength to live in this unpredictable world.

The initial note by the author is perfect – well, she talks about not being perfect. Sometimes, it is okay to not have perfect things as that makes u look at things different and different is not necessarily wrong!

I loved the book and could relate to Macy in so many ways. Check out the book if u like feel good books. This one is perfect for a rainy day!
