Day 16 – A book I read over and over again

Posted on September 16, 2020 by Sonali

I am a voracious reader – I love books and they have been my constant companion from a young age. Over the years I have read a lot of books but there are some that remain firm favourite. And then there are some books I read over and over again and never get bored. I don’t have just one book that falls in that category but a few. So here is the list.

Harry Potter series

I am sure that it will be on the list of a few people. When I first read Harry Potter, I was an adult and a married woman. But I fell in love with the books. Over the years they have remained my favourite and now a house favourite. All three of us love them. I can’t even count how many times I have read them. But the best part is that every time I read them, I discover something new.

The Hindi Bindi Club

This book was gifted to me by a friend who knew my love for books and thought a book on Indian diaspora would be interesting to me. She was not wrong! I love the book. It is what I call my “feel good” book. It is a story about three Indian Immigrant mothers in USA and their first generation American daughters. The characters are interesting and the tussle between immigrants and their American children is real. Having settled in Oz, I can so relate to the book and its story.

As the Crow Flies

Usually Jeffery Archer books are pacy and predictable. But I love this particular one. It is a story of a man’s success story against the backdrop of the two big wars with all the twists and turns thrown in. Again, the characters are very well etched and I love the book both for its story line and writing style. The book has been read so many times that my copy has become tattered.

These are only a few…as I am closing the blog, there are so many other books that are coming to my mind. But that is what you would expect from a book worm like me – too many books, too little time!
